Dragon Ball Super Possibly Returns In Fall 2019 / Spring 2020?!
Hey guys! How’s it going on?! It’s been nearly 2 days since the last finale episode 131 of Dragon Ball Super aired in Japan. It was the final episode and we won’t be having another episode next Saturday night / Sunday. I know it’s really sad but the new Gegege no Kitarō anime will run for a while in Dragon Ball Super’s time slot.
There are many rumors and fake news going around like that Dragon Ball Super will return right after the movie is released or it will definitely return in 2019 starting. Let me make one thing clear, all of these unofficial announcements are just fake. The news for it’s return will come in due time and we will keep you updated on it.
On that note, the company has started dropping some subtle hints already about it. The official twitter account made for Dragon Ball Super in 2015 was active until now where they were posting a lot of updates and stuff about the TV Series. Recently, they tweeted out that they will renew the account for the Dragon Ball Super movie.
Many fans were heart broken thinking that the TV Series is gone for good and it will only post updates about the movie. Well, that’s not the case. Yesterday they officially tweeted about the renewal of the twitter account with some more positive details. Herms98 on twitter provided all of us the summary / meaning of the tweet –
“As they promised, the official DBS Twitter account has rebranded itself to focus on the upcoming DBS movie. Right now they’ve got no actual movie news beyond that, though. They’ll also continue to cover news on the TV series as it becomes available for rental in Japan.” They have turned from just sharing TV series news to a mix of TV series and movie news.
They are not specifically gonna share the information about the movie coming this December but in general about all the movies UNDER Dragon Ball Super. Remember, when I tried to signify the usage of Dragon Ball Super in the poster of the movie when it was released online? There are going to be a lot of movies coming, my friend.
Also, the thing about the anime / TV Series is that, they can only air the series on that specific time slot as they have been doing it for years. If this new Gegege no Kitarō anime wasn’t coming, Dragon Ball Super wouldn’t have ended. So, let’s come to the issue why am I saying Fall 2019 / Spring 2020. It is because of Gegege no Kitarō.
It is a very known and famous series. Also, one of the oldest, even older than Dragon Ball and it’s sad to say so but it technically has higher priority than ‘Dragon Ball Super’ in the industry. Just a few days ago, it was revealed that the new anime will AT LEAST run for 50+ episodes. This means that it will either go up to 75 or 100 episodes.
It is starting on April 1, 75 episodes means 1 1/2 year which will bring us to Fall 2019. If it gains popularity again and gets approval for 100 episodes, it will air till 2020 April. This is also ideal for Dragon Ball Super. In this time frame, they can maybe release 2 movies before they get the time slot again. See, the time slot is important here.
They openly said in their official announcement that they have to wait until the time slot is available for rental again in Japan. That’s the main issue here. Also, 2020 would be a good time because Goku is the brand ambassador for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics too. What could be a better surprise and shocker to hype up both the fans and the olympics?!
Well, for now in reality, don’t expect Dragon Ball Super to return for at least 1 1/2 year and let’s just look forward to the movie right now. Well, what do you guys think about all this new happenings? If you have anything new to share also, please do share it with us. We will keep on updating you with proper updates from time to time.
