Dragon Ball Super Manga Gives Hit A Brand New Ability & Look!
Hey guys! How’s it going on? Dragon Ball Super might have ended its run a few weeks ago, but fans are really enjoying the manga release of the series. Especially now that it’s making major changes to how the Tournament of Power plays out in the story. It’s going really fast and also with a lot of exciting developments.
The manga has made many changes to how characters act and look during the Universal Survival arc. For example, like how Gohan entered the Tournament of Power with a new outfit. Not a new outfit per se but he’s wearing same clothes as Piccolo like he did in the Frieza and Cell saga. Hit has debuted a new look as well.
Ever imagine Hit without his skirt? The new skirt-less look for Hit has been divisive among the fandom as some find the new look odd for Hit since they have gotten so used to his look in the anime series. Other fans have enjoyed it simply by the fact that it’s yet another major deviation from how Hit’s battle unfolded in the series.
As seen in the previous manga page, Hit saved Goku from getting eliminated and shows Goku his new look and fighting style. Hit tells Goku that he’s given up on relying on his special time techniques and well indirectly his cocky behavior he showed before. He’s been training really hard and then bams, removes the skirt!
Instead of improving the special techniques, he worked on increasing his own physical strength which Hit calls as his ‘true strength’. As the time-skip didn’t work on Goku, he needs to do the fighting the old fashioned way only. The following manga pages show his fight against Jiren while Goku also helps a bit here and there.
Even Goku got so surprised that Hit could take on Jiren in hand to hand combat and how much he improved physically. Then they later started fighting side by side and started doing some good amount of damage. Hit then mentions that he has a special new technique which can help defeat Jiren together but Goku refuses.
Goku refuses to fight Jiren with Hit as he wants to defeat him alone with his strength only no matter what happens. Classic Goku move. Goku withdraws from the battle and then Hit attacks Jiren with his brand new move! Something happens to Jiren. He is not injured or anything but he can’t seem to attack Hit properly.
This technique is named Time Lag. We saw something different in the anime. In the anime, Hit used his everything, all of his might and energy to stop Jiren just at the edge of the stadium. Jiren could’ve been eliminated but well… we know what happened. In this ability, as explained, Jiren is slowed by a certain amount. Pretty cool!
Well, all this was good but sadly Hit didn’t get much time on the manga. We all know Jiren’s true power now. Jiren was just playing it cool and hiding his power. He suddenly get so fast that the time lag limit is broken and then… well, the rest is shown down below. A OHKO by Jiren. A nasty uppercut and Hit is eliminated.
