Dragon Ball Super Goku’s Voice Actress Awarded Lifetime Honor!
Hey guys! How’s it going on?! I don’t have any updated news about the upcoming Dragon Ball Super movie or about the TV Series but I have something else which would make you feel equally proud of your self as the person I am going to talk about. She’s one of the main pillars of the whole Dragon Ball franchise.
Dragon Ball has one of the hardest working voice actresses in their business / franchise. She is no other than Masako Nozawa, and her voice has made a big impression on anime fans because of it. In fact, it’s not a leap to say she played a big role in many children’s upbringings. Truly, just think how many time have we heard her voice?!
We all definitely acknowledge her hard work but what about the others? Well, the Foundation for Promoting Sound Growth of Children and the Child Welfare Foundation in Japan definitely agree as well. They awarded Nozawa with a lifetime achievement award for her contributions to the lives of many children.
Just how cool and amazing is that?! A lifetime achievement award, no matter how much you work or how much you earn, unless someone is there who ‘acknowledges’ your work publicly, you won’t get true satisfaction. Just imagine how great Masako Nozawa must be feeling when she finally got this award at the age of 81!? It’s truly amazing!
Officially revealed by Nozawa’s Geikdan Moonlight theater troupe on Twitter, the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare awarded Masako Nozawa the special Child Welfare Award from both the Foundation for Promoting Sound Growth of Children and the Child Welfare Foundation, who recognize her contribution to the positive growth of children.
Do you know how many characters has she voiced? Masako Nozawa has voiced characters in over 200 anime series, such as Kitaro in Ge Ge Ge no Kitaro, Hina Urashima in Love Hina, Doctor Kureha in One Piece and so many more. Even with 200 anime series, she is most famously known for her work as Goku in the Dragon Ball series.
People are saying that her work as Goku alone would be enough to get an award, but it’s great to see Nozawa get official recognition for the major contributions her performances have made to the world of anime and children’s entertainment. She’s truly one exceptional woman and I hope she keeps getting such achievements!
